Dock and menu bar
Settings › Dock and menu bar sets what runs along the edges of your screen. Like Appearance, these follow you to every device you sign in on.
The dock
- Position: Bottom, Left or Hidden. Left leaves windows the full height of the screen. Hidden keeps the dock out of sight until the pointer reaches the bottom edge.
- Size: Small, Standard or Large.
- Magnify icons: icons grow a little as the pointer passes over them. With it on, Magnification sets how much, from 120% to 180%. It only works while Motion is Full in Appearance.
- Show open apps: a small dot by an icon means its window is open.
To reorder the dock, drag its icons, or press Ctrl with the arrow keys. Right-click an icon for more. On a phone, the bottom bar keeps the first four icons, or the first three if you can talk to Sols.
The menu bar
- Home server status shows whether your server is online, at the right of the menu bar.
- Jethro lets you talk to Jethro from the menu bar, wherever you are. If you've renamed Jethro, the row carries the new name and face. It only shows for people who can talk to Sols, so children never see it, and guests see it only when an admin has let them use Sols.
Both are on to begin with.
