Subscriptions and holidays

Calendar can show calendars from the internet, like a school's or a sports club's, and the public holidays where you live.

Subscribe to a calendar

  1. Copy the calendar's address from the school, club or team. It starts with https:// or webcal://.
  2. In Calendar settings, under Subscribed calendars, press Subscribe.
  3. Paste the Address. Give it a Name, or leave it empty to use the calendar's own.
  4. Press Subscribe.

Calendar fetches it straight away, so a wrong address shows up at once. After that it's checked every 6 hours. Press the refresh button beside it to check now, or the bin to unsubscribe.

Events in a subscribed calendar come from its address, so you can't change them here. If a check fails, you keep the events from last time, and the calendar says what went wrong. You can have up to 20 subscriptions. Calendar only fetches them from the internet, never from your home network.

Public holidays

Public holidays come with , so they work without the internet. Until you choose a place, you see the holidays for where your server is, going by its time zone.

To choose your own:

  1. In Calendar settings, under Subscribed calendars, find Public holidays.
  2. Choose your state, territory, province or country, or None to turn holidays off.

Holidays are there for 2025 to 2035, for:

  • Australia, by state and territory
  • New Zealand
  • the United Kingdom, by country
  • Ireland
  • Canada, by province and territory
  • the United States, for federal holidays

Each person chooses their own place, and nobody can change the holidays themselves.
