Events and invitations
This page covers adding events, changing ones that repeat, and answering invitations people send you by email.
Add an event
- Press New event. In Day or Week, you can also click an empty time, and in Month, double-click a day.
- Give it a Title, and choose its Calendar if you have more than one.
- Set when it Starts and Ends, or tick All day.
- If it repeats, choose how under Repeat: every day, weekday, week, 2 weeks, month or year.
- Choose when to Remind me, from when it starts to 7 days before.
- Add Where and Notes if you like.
- Press Add event.
An event keeps the time zone it was made in, so it stays at the same local time when daylight saving changes. Phones that sync the calendar show reminders as alarms.
Change or delete an event
Open an event, then press Edit or Delete. For one that repeats, Calendar asks whether you mean Just this time or Every time. To move an event to another of your calendars, choose it under Calendar while you edit.
You can't change events in a calendar shared with you to see, in a subscribed calendar or in the public holidays.
Find your way around
Day, Week, Month and Agenda are across the top, and Today brings you back to today. Agenda shows the next 60 days. Search events looks through the last month and the next year.
Invitations
Invitations come by email. In Mail, one shows as a card with when and where, who invited you, and Going? with Yes, Maybe and No.
- Yes or Maybe puts the event in your calendar, with your answer. Choose which calendar beside In.
- No takes it out again.
- Your answer goes to whoever invited you, from the account the invitation came to.
- If they call it off, the card says so, with Take it out of your calendar.
In Calendar, an event you were invited to shows who invited you and who's going. Calendar doesn't send invitations itself. To plan with people at home, share a calendar with them instead; see Calendars and who sees them.
