Solel//dev docs

What does

runs on your own server, as an app. It doesn't keep a separate list of people: it works on your server's own people and teams, so everyone signs in with the Solel account they already have.

What it adds

An admin installs it for everyone, in Settings › Apps. Its pages then sit in Settings under , for owners and admins. They include:

Page What it's for
Directory Everyone in the organisation, their job, phone and who they report to
Teams Teams and the teams inside them
Sign-in apps Apps people sign in to with their Solel account, over OpenID Connect
SAML apps Apps that sign people in with SAML
Provisioning Making and turning off people's accounts in apps that take SCIM
Servers Other servers that join with a code
Admin roles Giving members part of running the organisation
Audit log Every sign-in and change, in one place

See People, teams and roles, Single sign-on, Join codes and Leavers and the audit log.

Work apps

Open from the dock and you see Work apps: every app you may sign in to, each opening in a new tab without another password. Until an admin adds apps for your teams, it says No work apps yet.

If you have an admin role, People you look after is there too, and an auditor also gets Audit log.

What it can reach

asks for these grants when it's installed. You can see them, like any app's, in Settings › Apps:

  • Add and change people, their details and teams, only ever as far as the person using it could in Settings › People. It can't make, promote or demote the owner or an admin, change their email or turn them off. Those stay in Settings › People.
  • See the names and pictures of the people in your household, to count who can sign in.
  • Add and change the apps people sign in to with Solel, and say who's signing in.
  • Read the audit log, for its Audit log page.
  • Reach the internet, which it uses only to check its licence.

For what grants mean in general, see What an app can reach.
