Add-ons

Add-ons give your Sols more to work with. You add each one once, then switch it on for the Sols you choose. They're in Genesis//ark, under Add-ons, in three kinds: Skills, Connectors (MCP) and Plugins.

Skills

Skills teach a Sol how to do a job, like reading PDFs or planning the week.

  • Discover lists the built-in skills and the ones published elsewhere. Browse sorts them into Everyday and home, Documents, Research, Writing and design, Code, and Media.
  • Installed is your library.
  • Updates shows skills you added that have a newer version.

Skills come from Solel picks, Anthropic, OpenAI and Hugging Face to start with. Under Sources you can switch on skills.sh and ClawHub, which anyone can publish to, or Add a source: a GitHub repo, or a site that publishes skills.

Before you add a skill, Skills Guard scans it on your server and shows what it found. A skill it blocks can't be added. Built-in skills come with , so they aren't scanned. A newer version is scanned again before it replaces yours.

To add a skill:

  1. Pick it in Discover.
  2. Under Switch on for, choose your Sols.
  3. Choose Add.

Connectors

Connectors link a Sol to another service over MCP. The list has online services' own MCP servers, like Notion, Linear and Todoist. Add your own takes any MCP server's address, with a key if it needs one. Only owners and admins can add one on your home network.

Picking a connector shows what goes to the service when a Sol uses it, and what a Sol can do with it. Tools that only read are marked look only. Under Each use, choose Just do it, or Ask first for anything that can change something. One that needs an account signs in in a new tab.

keeps a connector's address, key and sign-in, and your Sols reach it through , so neither the key nor the sign-in ever reaches the Genesis Engine.

Plugins

Plugins add tools that run inside the Genesis Engine, so only owners and admins add them, and only from Solel's reviewed list: Home Assistant and Public holidays. Each is fetched as Solel reviewed it, checked file by file and scanned before it's kept. It can reach only the site it names, or the address you give it.

Who gets them

Add-ons switch on for your own Sols only. If you share a Sol with the household, only your own chats with it use them. Every connection your server makes for add-ons is listed in Settings › Privacy.
