What a Sol is

A Sol is an AI persona that lives on your server and helps you. This page covers what makes each Sol its own, what they can do for you, and who at home can talk to them.

What a Sol has

• A name, and a role in a few words.
• A soul: who it is, and up to 12 rules it keeps.
• A personality, set with six dials and a mood at rest.
• A face, whose expressions follow how each reply feels.
• A memory of its own, and settings for what it shares.
• Add-ons you switch on for it: skills, connectors and plugins.

Every Sol also keeps the house rules: it never pretends to be you, never acts without asking, and says so when it isn't sure.

Kinds of Sol

• Helper: for everyday help around home.
• Specialist: one subject, in depth.
• Companion: company and conversation. Its memory starts private.

Jethro comes with . You can also make your own, or add one of the ready-made Sols.

Where they run

Sols run on the Genesis Engine, on your server, and all of them think with the model an admin picks in Settings › Models. See Models. The Genesis Engine has no way out to the internet of its own. passes it only what it needs, and checks who's asking.

What they can do for you

Without any add-ons, a Sol can:

• find your files by name, in your own space and what's shared with you
• see what's on in your calendars, and add an event once you allow it
• write an email and leave it in your Drafts in Mail, for you to check and send. It never sends anything.
• send you a notification, like a reminder you asked for.

When a Sol needs your OK, the chat says so. Choose Allow once or Don't allow.

Who can talk to Sols

• Owners, admins and adults. An adult's own Sols and chats are theirs alone.
• Guests, when an admin turns on Can use Sols for them in Settings › People. They never see the Sols shared at home.
• Children never see or talk to any Sol, Jethro included.
