The Aether Series

The Aether Series is Solel's own family of models: Angel, Dominion and Seraphim. This page covers what each one is for and what it needs, so you know which suits your server.

The models

Model Kind Good for Download Parameters
Angel 1 Fast Quick replies, light on memory 3.1 GB 4.7 billion
Dominion 1 Everyday The right size for most days 6.0 GB 9.7 billion
Seraphim 1 Flagship Hard problems, long documents 15.7 GB 27.8 billion

All three read images and text, and take up to 262,144 tokens of context. Angel 1 is under the Apache 2.0 licence. Dominion 1 and Seraphim 1 are under the Solel model licence.

What each one needs

A model runs best when it fits in the memory of your server's graphics card:

  • Angel 1: a card with 4 GB, or the processor alone.
  • Dominion 1: a card with 8 GB or more.
  • Seraphim 1: a card with 16 GB. 24 GB runs it comfortably.

A model still runs on a smaller card, with what doesn't fit on the processor, but slowly. See Using your graphics card.

How they're used

One model at a time answers for every Sol on your server, and the same model turns your chats into memories. A new server starts with the model the installer picked for its graphics card, downloaded the first time it starts. See Install with one line.

Models download from Solel-io on Hugging Face, once. After that every Sol uses them on your server, with no internet. Each download includes what a model needs to read images, so your Sols can look at pictures you send.

Only admins choose the model, in Settings › Models. See Picking a model.
